Your Future is Conveniently Planned. Are You In?

Today’s Verse and Thought
“And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”(John 17:3)
“The Methuselah Foundation is a biomedical charity co-founded by David Gobel and Dr. Aubrey de Grey in 2001. The foundation was named after Methuselah, the grandfather of Noah in the Hebrew Bible, whose lifespan was recorded as 969 years. Our mission is to make 90 the new 50 by 2030.”(source)
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”(Jeremiah 29:11)
From last week- 2018- “Our technology, our machines, is part of our humanity,” author, computer scientist, and inventor Ray Kurzweil once said. “We created them to extend ourselves, and that is what is unique about human beings.” In the past few years, there has been considerable discussion around the idea we are slowly merging with our technology, that we are becoming transhuman, with updated abilities, including enhanced intelligence, strength, and awareness.”(Forbes)
As we continue looking at the end of days compared to the Days of Noah, we will begin to see how the concept of corrupted hybrid flesh - like the Nephilim in Noah’s day - are not only possible, but probable based on what is planned for humanity in our very near future. But how will those who are at the helm of society get us to participate?
The Next Proposed Stage of “Human Evolution”
“Then the Lord said, ‘My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.’”(Genesis 6:3)
Ever since the fall of Adam and Eve, humans have been subjected to limitations including our inevitable aging, the fragility of our biology, our limited intellect, the ever-present threat of disease and suffering, and our unstoppable death.
Transhumanism was born out of a perceived need to address these human limitations. Those who don’t believe in God must look to other sources for answers if they want to tackle life’s problems. Those who promote transhumanism, currently see humans as a defective “species,” and by integrating technology into our bodies, we in essence get an “upgrade” to human 2.0.
Based on current data and projections, there isn’t a precise, universally agreed-upon percentage of the world’s population that has fully “adopted transhumanism” as a philosophical identity, however, we can estimate it.
By using the current adoption and future growth, and by using indicators like market data, technology adoption rates, and sociological studies we can gain insight into how transhuman ideas are spreading. When we do that, the number of people who align with transhumanism increases substantially.
Current Estimated Adoption of Transhumanism- 2024-2025
As a self-identified philosophical movement, being a “transhumanist” remains a niche religion. The number of people who would label themselves “transhumanists” is currently small.
The largest transhumanist organizations, such as Humanity+ (formerly the World Transhumanist Association), have membership numbers only in the thousands globally. When combining all organized groups, the proponents of this movement are likely well below 0.1% (world population). But as we will later see, this group of people are some of the wealthiest, most influential people in the world today. They are making extreme efforts to nudge us into their religion - and are becoming quite successful.
Polls that measure cultural agreement of transhumanist ideas - without using the actual label - show a segment of society is eager to adopt technological “upgrades.”. A 2024 survey by the Pew Research Center found that a number of Americans are open to “human enhancement”:
30-40% expressed openness to brain implants to improve cognitive function.
25-35% were open to gene editing for reduced disease risk in babies.
While hardcore transhumanist disciples are a small fraction, a substantial segment of the population - upwards of 30% in technologically advanced nations like the US - broadly accept key transhumanist goals - like life extension and cognitive enhancement - even if they don’t use the term, “transhumanist.”
“Connecting electronics to living brains sounds like science fiction. But researchers at Northwestern University just made it real. They built a wireless device that sends information directly to the brain using patterns of light. No wires. No surgery cutting into brain tissue. Just light shining through the skull.”(Source)
Follow the Money- Projected Future Adoption Based on Technology Markets
“If they come up with a way for you to download your consciousness and live in a simulation where you can be 25 years old on a beach with Scarlett Johansson for 1,000 years, are you going to do it? I’m in. I’m f***n in.”
Joe Rogan, Podcast Host and Commentator, Episode #1,155 of The Joe Rogan Experience with Bryan Johnson (2018).
The most robust data comes from the market growth of technologies that form the practical foundation needed to build a transhuman world. This suggests adoption will likely skyrocket, not through a philosophical conversion of disciples, but through the gradual, widespread acceptance of enhancing technologies within our culture.
It’s similar to how many people believe in the moral values taught in the Bible, yet they don’t believe in God, or adhere to Christianity.
Recall last week we talked about how our society is constantly being nudged to adopt behaviors, beliefs, and cultural norms? Transhumanism uses the same technique. The most potent tool is money. Massive amounts of capital are being directed exclusively toward technologies that will make transhumanism inevitable.
The global transhumanist market is projected to grow from $24.38 billion in 2022 to $126.1 billion by 2029 (CAGR of 22.8%).
This level of investment doesn’t happen on a whim; it’s a deliberate bet on a very specific future that very powerful people are assuming will come to fruition. Companies like Google (and its parent Alphabet, with ventures like Calico for life extension and Verily for health data), Neuralink, Meta (Reality Labs), and OpenAI are not researching these technologies out of curiosity. They are right now building the infrastructure for this post-human future they fully expect to manifest.
Their marketing and public relations people consistently frame these technologies as “exciting, progressive, enhancing, convenient, and necessary” as a way to shape our willingness to accept them.
This creates a powerful incentive structure. Researchers, developers, and entire industries are financially rewarded for advancing the transhumanist agenda, ensuring a constant stream of “innovations” that push society in that direction.
The explosive growth implies that the de facto adoption of transhumanist technologies will become mainstream within this decade. The adoption curve will very likely follow the pattern of other transformative technologies like smartphones or the internet.
The Nudge
“…so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.”(Revelation 13:17)
One area that we can easily see technology being used in daily life is in our shopping. The landscape of biometric store entry is rapidly evolving from experimental pilot programs to more permanent implementations, primarily in the retail and warehouse club sector.
The most prominent example currently requiring biometrics is Sam’s Club. And soon more will follow. Here are just some of the stores that currently require or have recently tested biometric entry/payment, along with the specific technologies used.
Currently Active and Widespread Implementation
1. Sam’s Club (a division of Walmart Inc.)
Biometric Used: Palm Vein Recognition.
Program Name: “Palm Pay” or “Palm Pilot.”
How it Works: Instead of using a membership card or phone app, members can conveniently link their palm print to their account. At the entrance, they hold their palm over a scanner to verify membership. The same scan can be used to pay for purchases at the checkout.
Current Status: Actively rolling out nationwide. As of late 2024 and into 2025, hundreds of Sam’s Club locations have installed the scanners at entrances and registers. It is presented as a faster, more convenient “hands-free” payment option, but its use for entry effectively makes it a requirement for accessing the store.
2. Amazon Go / Amazon Fresh Stores
Biometric Used: Hand Geometry (specifically, Amazon’s “Amazon One” system).
How it Works: Similar to Sam’s Club, customers can enroll their palm print and link it to their Amazon account. They then scan their palm to enter the store and their purchases are automatically charged upon exit (using the Just Walk Out technology).
Current Status: This is an optional payment and entry method at Amazon Go and select Amazon Fresh stores. However, its integration is so seamless that it functions as a primary method and is so “convenient” that many will find it hard to decline. It is not a universal requirement yet, but it represents a significant push toward normalizing biometrics in daily commerce.
3. Whole Foods Market (owned by Amazon)
Biometric Used: “Hand Geometry” (Amazon One).
Current Status: Amazon has run a test market using Amazon One as a payment method in a limited number of Whole Foods locations. It’s not currently required for entry, but its presence signals the parent company’s intent to expand the technology across its retail portfolio.
The stated reasons from these corporations for adopting this technology are almost always convenience and security:
Frictionless Shopping: No need to carry a wallet, phone, or membership card.
Reduced Fraud: A palm or fingerprint is much harder to steal or duplicate than a card number.
Faster Checkout: Streamlines the process for customers.
From a critical perspective, this also represents a massive data consolidation. These companies are building detailed biometric databases tied directly to purchasing histories, which is invaluable for marketing and control.
What to Expect in the Near Future
Expansion: It is highly likely that Walmart will expand its palm-scanning technology from Sam’s Club to its main Walmart stores.
Airports and Stadiums: Amazon is also deploying Amazon One in airports (e.g., Denver International Airport) and stadiums for entry and payment, normalizing the technology in high-traffic environments.
Increased Adoption: As the infrastructure becomes cheaper and consumer resistance wanes (often through “convenience” trade-offs), more grocery chains, big-box retailers, and membership-based stores will likely adopt similar systems.
To be continued…
Today’s Question
Today’s Prayer
Father I am conflicted about these new systems as just “tools” to use. How do your people fit into our society and also avoid any kind of danger using these tools at the same time? While I’m fascinated by the amazing access we have to knowledge, I’m sobered because of its’ implications. You had your prophet Daniel write that in the end of time knowledge would increase. Is this what we are witnessing today? I think so.
I’m grateful Father that we don’t have to live in fear of what is coming. Your Word has already spelled it all out. For us your children, we have a wonderful hope and future. But I’m sad for the people of the world who reject you. And I’m so sorry for the suffering that they will endure. I wish it didn’t have to be so.
I pray today that people will believe in Jesus as their Savior. I pray that they will find peace even when life is chaotic. Only in you is eternal life possible. Help us today to live a life of hope and peace. May it all be for your glory and praise. Amen❤️
